Retreats

The Yoga for Life Project Founder & Director Claire Whalley, offers a series of nourishing, reviving and therapeutic yoga retreats in some of the most idyllic retreat locations across the UK, Europe and India.

The Retreats

Across a long weekend, Claire aims to bring you true respite from your daily routine and from the stresses that can come with life. All retreats will include morning meditation or a silent walk bringing you back into the present and heightening your senses to the natural world, morning yoga, evening restorative yoga and yoga nidra – the practice of conscious sleep. As an all year round outdoor swimmer, Claire likes to share the mental and physical benefits of swimming and will take you to some wonderful sea and river locations. There will also be opportunities for relaxing, walking and massage. Some of the retreats also offer art and or foraging and cooking.

Idyllic Devon Retreats with yoga & swimming

Situated in the heart of rural Devon, in the most stunning rolling landscape between Exmoor & Dartmoor, warmed by open fires and calmed by beautiful gardens, in this beautiful cob & thatch, 17th century home, this nurturing retreat, will take you off the beaten track and back in time. You will find yourself in one of the most beautiful & peaceful places you have ever experienced. Feel the layers of tension release.

With Dartmoor on the doorstep, you can enjoy some fresh water swims in the crystal clear rivers and magical pools.

In winter, join therapeutic yoga teacher, Claire Whalley and enjoy winding down, cocooning in, nourishing and restoring. In spring, enjoy restoring, revitalizing and embracing new beginnings. In summer, take the time to reassess and recharge, embracing the positivity and vitality of summer. In autumn, like the trees losing their leaves, release & let go so you can embrace a new quality of openness and acceptance. Through breathwork, meditation, gentle yoga, yoga nidra (the practice of conscious sleep) and immersion with nature, allow your nervous system to destress and take the opportunity to release any tension you’re holding in the body.

Revitalise your body with nourashing, freshly cooked and locally sourced vegetarian cuisine. (All food requests can be catered for). Enjoy the healing balm of the local countryside and the refreshing waters. And expect to return home feeling re-energised, with a sense of purpose, ready to embrace new beginnings. â€‹
